Shane's First Soccer Game

It seems like one first after another lately. Today was Shane's first soccer game. Good start to the season as they won and Shane even scored a goal. He is much stronger at defense since he is fast and being so new to soccer he does not have the ball handling skills for much scoring. He has already improved after the one practice and game, so I am hopeful for the season. He had a lot of fun, but we have to work a bit on sportsmanship. Shane liked to yell out the soccer with great emphasis on, "On my goodness we scored AGAIN! Now it is like 8 to 1." We had to discuss that we do not need to announce the score out loud every time and he would not like it if the roles were reversed. He had a little taste of his own medicine when the other team went on a scoring streak and closed the gap a bit.
